When you meet someone, there is about a 12 second period of time while decisions are being made about who you are and whether you are who you say you are.  The saying “You never have a second chance to make a good first impression”  is true. That impression formed on your first meeting with another person, continues to influence your relationship with the person.  You can overcome decisions that are not favorable to you but it does take a great deal of time and energy.
